This product is a registered biocide under Agriculture Canada’s “Pest Control Products Act” (Registration #28339). Myacide GA25 is a glutaraldehyde-based biocide in a clear liquid form.
Myacide GA25 is effective in controlling both aerobic and anaerobic (sulfate reducing) bacteria. It is compatible with all water-based fracturing and drilling fluids and can be neutralized prior to disposal (see Microtox Analysis below). The recommended treatment is dependent on the severity of the bacterial contamination. As a pre-treatment, add 0.1-0.5 L/m³ to the fluid system and monitor with microbial dip slides. For already contaminated fluids, add 0.5-2.0 L/m³ treatments until bacterial control is achieved.
