Processed Lime is Calcium Oxide (CaO) sometimes referred to as quicklime or hotlime. The presence of calcium in cement is a well-known cement accelerator. The combination of the calcium present in Processed Lime and its reactivity characteristics when mixed with water produces a very effective cement accelerator.

Mixing & Handling
Storage Precaution: Calcium oxide on its own will not burn. However, bulk powder may heat spontaneously when it comes into contact with water. Humidity or contact with water may generate sufficient heat to ignite flammable and combustible materials. In addition, the reaction of calcium oxide with a number of commonly encountered materials can generate sufficient heat to ignite nearby combustible materials. Store in a dry place.
Handling Precaution: Lime gives off heat when mixed with water. Due to its reactivity with water, all precautions should be taken to avoid skin or eye contact. It will cause severe burns to the eyes and skin. Wear goggles and protective clothing when handling this product.
