Linseed soap is a lubricating grease made from a mixture of linseed oil, fatty soaps, and surfactants. This semi-solid, brown paste is designed for drilling applications where smoother core movement and reduced equipment wear are important.
It can be swabbed inside inner tubes, added to drill fluid through a suction hose applicator, or flushed into holding tanks with a water spray. Once applied, linseed soap helps lubricate the core lifter, minimize wear on the inner tube, and facilitate core sliding into the inner tube.
