    Earth Pro PAC

Earth Pro PAC is a high purity, low molecular weight polyanionic cellulose polymer. It is available in Regular and Low Viscosity grades.

Earth Pro PAC is a primary fluid-loss reducer for water-based drilling fluids. Earth Pro PAC-Regular also provides secondary viscosity. Earth Pro PAC-LV should be used when fluid loss control without additional viscosity is required. Due to being highly polyanionic, this polymer has shale stabilizing properties by absorbing onto positive sites on formation substrates and establishing a physical barrier.

    Concentration

Both grades are used in concentrations of 3.0-10.0 kg/m3 in salt-based muds whereas fresh water-based mud systems normally use concentrations of 1.0-3.0 kg/m3. Earth Pro PAC can be used at temperatures up to 150oC with oxygen scavengers.

    Mixing & Handling

Earth Pro PAC should be stored in a dry location. To avoid lumping, it is added to the mud system through the hopper at 30-40 minutes per sack. Using a dust mask and eye protection while mixing all powdered products is advisable.
